Be prepared for phase 7

7th phase elections are not too far. They’re going to be held on 19th May which includes major states like Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, etc. Therefore, I, as a student of Journalism and  Mass Communications feels obliged to write about how people should be very careful about whom they vote. There’s a lot of chaos going on at this time about who deserves to be elected as Prime Minister of the country?

Propaganda has been this strong that we’re made believe that the only option available for another 5 years too, is Modi and that Rahul Gandhi doesn’t deserve to be the face of the country. This is not at all true but we’re made believe that this is true.

In democracy, everyone deserves a fair chance of getting elected. We live in a country where EVMs can be hacked, polling volunteers force people to elect a particular party. Just to say we live in a democratic country but we all know where our freedom lies. We elect MPs in India who themselves elect PM, unlike America where President is elected. Narendra Modi can be the face of the country but you should be thinking right now whether those contesting elections from your area are worth your vote or not, despite of belonging to any particular party. Your personal bias should not get involved while decision making. You should make correct judgments on the basis of facts and figures available on official sites.
